I must admit, I have always enjoyed doing laundry. Maybe because it is a task where a machine does most of the work. Or you can do the majority of the work (folding and putting away) while watching the TV. So I have always been the laundry guy in the house.
But now, I am finding that I look forward to doing all the laundry and the dishes in the house everyday. I know why, it is because these are jobs that I have control over and I can show completion in them. Where there once was a stack of dirty dishes, there is now a clean counter thanks to me.
But I’m finding that each day, I’m running out of these types of projects. I’ve already sent out a few things that have been sitting around for a few weeks. My e-mail inbox is sitting at zero, as I have written everyone back or filed all other e-mails.
I’m worried that I’m hitting the point where there are no more jobs left to do around the house. I can sit and think for only so long.
It is at times like these that I wish I knew carpentry, so I could begin working on finishing our basement. I should revise that a bit, because my real wish is that I still had Austin.
